Matthew Colin Bailey, Assoc. AIA

Project Manager

With a diverse professional background spanning architecture, design, historic preservation, and cultural stewardship, Matthew has contributed to luxury residential, hospitality, event, and heritage-focused projects throughout the region. His work is grounded in a strong appreciation for craftsmanship, narrative, and the lasting impact of meaningful spaces.

Matthew’s approach is deeply informed by 18th- and 19th-century architectural design, strategic vision, and an intuitive understanding of how architecture shapes human experience. His career has included leadership roles at My Old Kentucky Home State Park, Belle Meade Historic Site & Winery, and Hermitage Farm, as well as work connected to luxury residences, celebrated event venues, and destination properties. He is especially passionate about creating environments that feel authentic, memorable, and deeply rooted in place.

In addition to his professional work, Matthew is the founder of the Green River Academy Preservation Society, where he leads efforts to restore and reinterpret one of Kentucky’s most significant early academic buildings. His interests extend beyond architecture into history, storytelling, land stewardship, and community revitalization. He is also a published author who enjoys the rural setting of his family’s farm, established in 1799, where he spends time designing and building projects by hand, exploring historic places, and imagining new possibilities for old spaces.
